Preschool
We offer a half-day preschool program which lasts from 8:30 to 12:00. Our curriculum is designed to be developmentally appropriate for each age level. We expose the children to a large variety of topics which encourages observation, imitation, exploration, and use of critical thinking skills. Our teachers plan thematic-based units which allow them to be able to teach phonics, science, recognition of letters and numbers using one main theme.
Each class is designed to give children many hands-on opportunities. During a typical day your child would be exposed to the following:
- Art projects
- Cognitive games
- Reading Books
- Development of gross and fine motor skills
- Introduction of letters, shapes, colors, and numbers
- Songs and fingerplays
- Free time in learning centers
- Beginning math skills during circle time
Christian values are the heart of our curriculum. Our goal is not to teach specific doctrine, but to share God's love with our children through Bible stories, songs, verses and prayer.
The half-day preschool program closely follows the Spartanburg District Two school calendar as far as teacher work days, Christmas break, Spring break, etc.
Our half-day preschool classes are as follows:
3's Monday/Wednesday/Friday
3's Tuesday/Thursday
4's Monday through Friday
Preschool Plus
We also offer an extended day for 3 and 4 year old preschoolers, for those parents who have older children in school and need a pick up time that coincides with their elementary children, or for those that just need a little extra time! The Preschool Plus day lasts until 2:00 on the days they are enrolled, and includes a time for lunch, and a more relaxed setting to play and socialize with their friends.
