| Preschool We offer a half-day program from 8:30 to 11:30. Our curriculum is designed to be developmentally appropriate for each age level. Every classroom is set up with learning centers that include dramatic play, blocks, art, books, manipulatives, computers and science. Each class is designed to give children many hands-on opportunities. Our teachers plan thematic units which allow them to be able to teach phonics, letters, numbers, and science using one main theme. Christian values are the heart of our curriculum. Our goal is not to teach specific doctrine, but to share God's love with our children through Bible stories, songs, verses and prayer. The half-day preschool program closely follows the Spartanburg District Two school calendar as far as teacher work days, Christmas break, Spring break, etc. Our half-day preschool classes are as follows: 3's Monday/Wednesday/Friday 3's Tuesday/Thursday 4's Monday through Thursday
Preschool Plus We also offer an extended day for 3 and 4 year old preschoolers, for those parents who have older children in school and need a pick up time that coincides with their elementary children, or for those that just need a little extra time! The Preschool Plus day lasts until 1:30 on the days they are enrolled, and includes a time for lunch, and a more relaxed setting to play and visit with their friends.
Daycare Full day students have the benefit of the preschool curriculum in the morning, and the opportunity to eat lunch, have a nice nap, and be picked up in the afternoon. Our hours are from 7-6, and the daycare students have the opportunity to attend school on days the half-day preschoolers would otherwise be off (teacher work days, Christmas break, Spring break, summer, etc.) We offer daycare for one-year olds through Kindergarten, five days a week.
Extras We also make available programs in the afternoon for our daycare and after-school students. We have dance classes with Starmakers, gymnastics with Spartanburg Gymnastics, an exercise/fitness class with Stretch-n-Grow, and a computer education class with Cyber-Kids. These optional programs are offered at an extra cost paid by the parent directly to the sponsor.
| | Kindergarten We also offer a five-year old Kindergarten program, lasting from 8:30-2:00. This class offers a wonderful educational opportunity for your child in a Christian environment. The 1:7 teacher/child ratio is one of the strong points of our class, as we will only register fourteen children in our 5K class. Our curriculum includes, but is not limited to, "Math Their Way", which is a manipulative based program for teaching math skills; a strong phonics program featuring "The Letter People"; computer instruction; weekly spelling words with an emphasis on word families, journal writing, and beginning reading including the 100 Book Challenge. Learning is supplemented with many hands-on opportunities including art, cooking, experiments, character dress-up days, and special programs related to specific units of study. We also have the luxury of being able to expose the children to many educational and cultural experiences with a wide variety of field trips throughout the year.
Spanish and Music Our three, four and five year olds also have the opportunity to attend Spanish and Music class! Spanish class lasts twenty minutes each week, and they have lots of fun learning to speak a new language! Music class lasts twenty minutes each week as well, and it's a rollicking time of singing and dancing!
After-school We also offer pick-up at several schools in District Two for our after-school program. The children enjoy a healthy snack as they arrive from school, and then have a designated homework time. After that, they are able to relax and have some recreation time before being picked up. The schools we currently serve are Boiling Springs Elementary, Oakland Elementary, Hendrix Elementary, Carlisle-Foster's Grove Elementary, and Boiling Springs Intermediate.
Science We are also pleased to be able to offer a wonderful science program for our preschoolers! Miss BJ has relinquished her four year old classroom to bring the wonder of nature and God's creation to our children ages 1 through 5. She comes in every other week to bring interesting objects and fun experiments that our children might not otherwise experience.
