Kindergarten

We offer a five-year old Kindergarten program, lasting from 8:30-2:00, Monday through Friday.  This class offers a wonderful educational opportunity for your child in a Christian environment.  The 1:8 teacher/child ratio is one of the strong points of our class, as we will only register sixteen children in our 5K class.  Our curriculum includes, but is not limited to, "Math Their Way", which is a manipulative based program for teaching math skills; a strong phonics program featuring "The Letter People"; computer instruction; weekly spelling words with an emphasis on word families, journal writing, and beginning reading including the 100 Book Challenge. 

Learning is supplemented with many hands-on opportunities including art, cooking, experiments, character dress-up days, and special programs related to specific units of study.

We also have the luxury of being able to expose the children to many educational and cultural experiences with a wide variety of field trips throughout the year.

This class is lovingly led by Mrs. Julie Walker, who has been with Covenant since 1994.  The enthusiasm for learning that she instills in each child shines through in all the children do, and is carried with them long after they leave Covenant. "Miss Julie" is assisted by Mrs. Joy Adams, equally as energetic and full of the same Christian love that emanates from Miss Julie.
